The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority conducted a Grama Sabha in Mandadam village as part of ongoing land acquisition and land pooling efforts for the development of Amaravati, the state’s proposed capital city. Officials, including senior commissioners and planning authorities, explained that land pooling has been used for infrastructure such as roads and LPS zones, while acquisition notices were issued for farmers not enrolled in the scheme. Authorities also informed that eligible farmers can still opt for the Land Pooling Scheme within the given timeline. Farmers were urged to cooperate as development works progress across capital region villages.
The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) organised a Grama Sabha in Mandadam village as part of the ongoing process linked to land acquisition and development activities for Amaravati, the proposed People’s Capital of Andhra Pradesh. The meeting was attended by APCRDA Commissioner Shri V. Vijay Rama Raju, IAS, along with Additional Commissioners Shri A. Bhargava Teja, IAS, and Shri Kollabathula Karthik, IAS.
The Commissioner informed villagers that land pooling activities have been carried out for developing key infrastructure, including roads, Land Pooling Scheme (LPS) zones, and other civic facilities in the capital city framework. He further noted that land acquisition notifications had recently been issued following the required procedure, after multiple rounds of consultations with farmers and landowners who had not joined the Land Pooling Scheme. It was also conveyed that farmers included in the latest acquisition notifications still have the option to opt into the Land Pooling Scheme within the prescribed timeframe.
Officials highlighted that APCRDA continues to implement planned infrastructure works across villages in the Amaravati Capital Region. With development and construction activities progressing across the project area, farmers were requested to extend cooperation to the authority for smoother execution of works. It was also advised that farmers who have already received returnable plots complete their registration process at the designated Competent Authority offices available locally.
The Grama Sabha was also attended by Director (Planning) APCRDA Shri B. Suresh Kumar (FAC), Director – Lands (Capital City) Shri N. Vasantha Rayudu, Deputy Inspector of Survey (Land Acquisition) Shri S. Ravindra Prasad, Special Deputy Collectors Shri P. Madhusudhana Rao and Shri M. Seshi Reddy, along with Tahsildars Shri P.
