The Rajasthan State Road Development and Construction Corporation (RSRDC) has approved a loan proposal worth INR 4,938 crore for land acquisition related to the Kotputli–Kishangarh and Beawar–Bharatpur expressway projects. The approval was granted during the corporation’s 131st board meeting held in Jaipur under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari.
The proposed expressways are part of Rajasthan’s ongoing infrastructure expansion plan aimed at improving regional road connectivity and reducing travel time across major industrial and commercial routes in the state. The Kotputli–Kishangarh expressway is planned as an access-controlled corridor connecting important sections linked to the Delhi-Mumbai route, while the Beawar–Bharatpur corridor is expected to strengthen east-west connectivity across Rajasthan.
The loan approval is primarily aimed at speeding up land acquisition before the start of construction work. Land procurement has remained one of the biggest challenges in large infrastructure projects across India, often resulting in delays in project execution and rising costs. By securing funding at an early stage, the state government is aiming to reduce procedural delays and ensure smoother implementation of the projects.
The expressway corridors are also expected to improve freight transportation and reduce congestion on existing highway stretches, including sections connected to National Highway-48. Improved connectivity between industrial zones, logistics hubs and urban centres is likely to support faster movement of goods and passenger traffic across the state.
During the meeting, the board also approved a separate loan proposal of INR 460 crore for the upgradation of the Nasirabad–Sarwar–Kekri–Deoli road on State Highway-26. The project includes expansion of the existing two-lane road into a four-lane corridor along with the construction of a bypass near Kekri to ease traffic movement.
Apart from the highway expansion proposals, RSRDC increased the approved repair funding for the Gotan–Bilara–Pundal road project from INR 17 crore to INR 27.87 crore. The board cleared a total of 35 proposals during the meeting, including approval of the corporation’s balance sheet for FY25.
According to reports, Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari said infrastructure projects should focus on long-term public benefit and improved connectivity for residents, transport operators and businesses.
Rajasthan has been actively pushing road and highway development projects over the last few years to improve connectivity between key economic zones, tourism centres and industrial regions. Earlier, the state government had also approved highway construction proposals worth over INR 4,279 crore for multiple state road projects. Several infrastructure projects in Rajasthan are being developed through a mix of state funding, institutional borrowing and support from multilateral agencies.
The new expressway projects are also expected to create opportunities for industrial activity, warehousing and real estate development along the proposed corridors. Regions located near major highway interchanges and bypasses have seen increasing interest from logistics operators and commercial developers in recent years due to improved connectivity and transport access.
