Hospital chain Park Medi World Ltd has announced the acquisition of 100 per cent outstanding shareholding of The Medicity Hospital, Rudrapur, in an all-cash transaction valued at INR 177 crore.

With this acquisition, the Park Group has entered the Uttarakhand market, taking its presence across North India to six states. The company has been expanding its healthcare network in recent years through strategic growth and capacity addition in tier-2 and tier-3 cities.

The Medicity Hospital in Rudrapur is a multi-super speciality healthcare institution with a capacity of 330 beds. The facility caters to patients from Rudrapur and nearby regions in Uttarakhand, where demand for organised healthcare infrastructure has been increasing steadily over the past few years.

Park Medi World stated that the acquisition is in line with its broader growth strategy aimed at improving operational synergies and achieving economies of scale through deployment of assets in high-potential and underserved markets. The company indicated that expanding into regions with growing healthcare demand remains a key part of its long-term business plan.

Managing Director Dr Ankit Gupta said the acquisition represented an important step in the company’s strategic plan to build a larger healthcare network across North India. He added that the expansion would support the group’s efforts to strengthen healthcare access and service delivery in emerging regional markets.

India’s healthcare and hospital sector has seen increased acquisition activity over the past few years as operators look to expand geographically, improve occupancy levels and strengthen specialised care offerings. Growing healthcare demand beyond metro cities has also pushed hospital groups to invest in regional medical infrastructure and multi-speciality facilities.
