Synopsis

The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) conducted a Gram Sabha in Kuragallu as part of the ongoing land acquisition and land pooling activities for the Amaravati capital development project. Senior APCRDA officials informed villagers that farmers whose lands were included in the recent acquisition notification still have an opportunity to join the Land Pooling Scheme (LPS) within the prescribed timeline. Officials also reviewed infrastructure development plans for capital region villages and urged landowners to cooperate with the ongoing works. Farmers who received returnable plots were also asked to complete their registrations at designated local offices.

The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) conducted a Gram Sabha in Kuragallu village for discussions related to land acquisition and land pooling activities linked to the development of the People’s Capital Amaravati project.

Additional Commissioners A. Bhargava Teja IAS and Kollabathula Karthik IAS attended the meeting along with other senior officials connected with the capital region development works.

During the Gram Sabha, Additional Commissioner A. Bhargava Teja informed villagers that the Land Pooling Scheme (LPS) was being implemented for infrastructure projects including roads, LPS zones and other development works planned within Amaravati. He said that while a large number of farmers had already participated in the pooling process, some landowners had not joined despite several rounds of discussions.

He explained that the APCRDA had recently issued notifications for land acquisition following the prescribed procedure for lands that had not yet come under pooling. At the same time, officials clarified that farmers whose names appeared in the land acquisition notification still had the opportunity to voluntarily participate in the land pooling process within the specified timeline.

Officials also informed villagers that infrastructure planning and implementation works were being taken up across villages in the Amaravati capital region. Construction activities linked to the larger Amaravati development project are currently progressing in multiple phases, including internal roads, drainage systems and civic infrastructure in identified capital villages.

Bhargava Teja further requested farmers and landowners in the capital region to cooperate with APCRDA officials to ensure smooth execution of the ongoing works. Farmers who had already been allotted returnable plots under the Land Pooling Scheme were also advised to complete plot registration formalities at the competent authority offices functioning locally.

The Amaravati capital development project has remained one of Andhra Pradesh’s major urban infrastructure initiatives, with land pooling forming a key part of the model adopted for assembling land parcels from farmers for public infrastructure and city development.

Director-Lands (Capital City) N. Vasantharayudu, Deputy Inspector of Survey (LA) S. Ravindra Prasad, Special Deputy Collectors P. Madhusudhan Rao and M. Seshi Reddy, Tehsildar P. Satish and other officials also participated in the Gram Sabha.
