APCRDA Additional Commissioner Kollabathula Karthik, IAS, inspected flood management works being carried out in Amaravati, the planned capital region. The review took place on Saturday during the past week, where he visited several sites linked to Palavagu development works across the city. These works are part of the larger effort to strengthen drainage systems and manage rainwater flow in key areas.
During the inspection, officials from APCRDA and ADCL explained the progress of the ongoing works and updated him on the current stage of execution. The focus remained on ensuring that the development activities are carried out without delays and maintain the required standards.
Karthik observed the areas where rainwater channels are being developed and assessed their capacity to handle seasonal flow. He noted the importance of completing these works in line with the approaching monsoon period. He also conveyed that coordination among departments should be improved to avoid any delay in execution.
The inspection covered multiple stretches where Palavagu-related infrastructure is under development, with attention given to areas identified as vulnerable during heavy rainfall. The emphasis remained on completing pending works efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
