• RSM US India plans expansion of office space across India, driven by rising demand and talent availability
• Firm currently operates from Gurugram, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Kolkata with 4 lakh sq ft office space and 3,800 employees
• Leadership highlights India’s growing strategic role in global delivery, moving beyond cost-based outsourcing model
• Company strengthens Global Capability Centre (GCC)-plus positioning across assurance, tax, consulting and shared services
RSM US India, the India arm of global consultancy firm RSM Global, plans to expand its office footprint in the country, citing strong market potential and deep talent availability, according to a senior company executive.
The company currently operates from four Indian cities Gurugram, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Kolkata with a total office space of around 4 lakh square feet and a workforce of approximately 3,800 employees. The expansion is expected to support its growing delivery requirements across global operations.
Ashokkumar Prabhakar, RSM US India Leader and member of the firm’s Executive Leadership Team, said India has become central to the organisation’s global strategy due to its scale, talent pool, innovation capacity and ability to deliver client impact. He noted that India is increasingly shifting from being a low-cost delivery base to playing a more strategic role in global service delivery.
He further stated that the firm sees strong prospects in India from both a market expansion and talent acquisition perspective, adding that significant skilled manpower is available across its existing operational hubs.
RSM US India operates primarily across assurance, tax, consulting and shared services functions. The entity does not directly service Indian clients but supports global operations, functioning in a structure broadly aligned with Global Capability Centres (GCCs).
Prabhakar described the operation as a “GCC-plus” model, noting that while traditional GCCs primarily focus on cost and labour arbitrage, RSM US India is increasingly oriented towards delivering client outcomes and higher-value services.
The company indicated that additional office space will be added during the current year to accommodate its expansion plans, reinforcing India’s role as a long-term strategic hub for its global business operations.
