According to officials, the government is evaluating introduction of online appointment booking systems, digital document verification, token-based visitor management and pre-registration scrutiny mechanisms to reduce waiting time and administrative bottlenecks. Authorities are also considering advanced verification tools and integrated digital checks intended to minimise fraudulent property transactions and ownership disputes.

The planned upgrades extend beyond digitisation and include modernisation of physical infrastructure at registration centres. Officials indicated that sub-registrar offices could be redesigned on the lines of Passport Seva Kendras with air-conditioned waiting areas, digital help desks, queue-management systems and improved citizen service facilities.

Property registration offices in Delhi have frequently faced criticism over overcrowding, delays in documentation, manual processes and risks associated with fraudulent transactions. Real estate consultants and legal experts have repeatedly highlighted the need for stronger digital integration and verification systems within registration processes, particularly as property transactions in urban centres become increasingly documentation-intensive.
