• Rajasthan and the Centre have invited investors to expand electronics and semiconductor manufacturing in the state with policy support and infrastructure incentives.
• The state highlighted development of semiconductor clusters, industrial corridors and integrated manufacturing ecosystems across key regions.
• Officials stated that semiconductor and electronics investments are expected to strengthen industrial growth, domestic manufacturing capacity and employment generation in Rajasthan.
The Centre and the Rajasthan government have jointly positioned Rajasthan as a major destination for electronics and semiconductor manufacturing, highlighting policy incentives, industrial infrastructure and investment opportunities across the state.
During an interactive session on the electronics and semiconductor sector held at the Chief Minister’s Office in Jaipur, Union Electronics and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated that Rajasthan holds significant potential to emerge as a key manufacturing hub within India’s expanding electronics ecosystem. He added that the electronics sector has witnessed rapid growth over the past few years with large-scale manufacturing capacity being developed across the country.
According to Vaishnaw, groundwork for establishment of nearly 450 factories has been laid over the last two years, while 75 factories were approved under the Electronic Components Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS) during the past year. He urged investors to set clear targets for establishing manufacturing units in Rajasthan and assured policy and administrative support from both the Centre and the state government.
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma stated that India has entered the group of semiconductor-producing nations under the India Semiconductor Mission, which is backed by an incentive package exceeding INR 76,000 crore. He said Rajasthan has already operationalised its first semiconductor cluster in Bhiwadi across 50 acres with an annual production capacity of nearly six crore chips.
According to the state government, investment proposals worth more than INR 1,200 crore from around 20 companies have already been received for the semiconductor sector. Officials stated that Rajasthan’s industrial strategy is centred around its “triple-S” advantage comprising silica resources, skilled workforce and solar energy capacity.
The state government further stated that dedicated semiconductor and industrial policies have been introduced to strengthen manufacturing infrastructure and investment readiness. Financial incentives including capital subsidies and interest subvention support are also being offered to investors under the policy framework.
Officials added that industrial regions including the Jodhpur-Pali-Marwar belt and Kankani are being developed as integrated electronics and semiconductor manufacturing zones with facilities for chip design, electronics production and system development activities.
Industry and Commerce Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore stated that semiconductors have become central to economic self-reliance and global technology competitiveness, adding that Rajasthan is positioned to play a larger role in India’s semiconductor manufacturing expansion plans.
