Qatar Holding sells Adani Energy Solutions stake worth INR 643 crore to Birla Mutual Fund

Synopsis

Qatar Holding LLC, affiliated with the Qatar Investment Authority, has sold a 0.40% stake in Adani Energy Solutions for around INR 643 crore through an open market transaction. Birla Mutual Fund acquired the shares at an average price of INR 1,339 apiece. The transaction comes shortly after Adani Energy Solutions reported growth in quarterly revenue and a sharp rise in full-year profit for FY26, supported by higher operational income across its energy transmission and infrastructure business segments.

Qatar Holding LLC, an affiliate of the sovereign wealth fund Qatar Investment Authority, has sold a 0.40% stake in Adani Energy Solutions through an open market transaction valued at approximately INR 643 crore, according to block deal data available on the BSE.


The transaction involved sale of 48,05,974 shares of Adani Energy Solutions by Qatar Holding LLC at an average price of INR 1,339 per share. The total deal value stood at around INR 643.52 crore.

Birla Mutual Fund acquired the same number of shares at the same transaction price through the block deal executed on Friday.

Following completion of the transaction, shares of Adani Energy Solutions closed 2.10% higher at INR 1,368 apiece on the BSE.

The stake sale comes shortly after the company reported its financial results for the quarter ended March 2026. Adani Energy Solutions posted a marginal increase of 1.3% in consolidated net profit at INR 723 crore for the quarter compared to INR 714 crore reported during the corresponding period of the previous financial year.

According to the company’s financial disclosures, total income during the January–March FY26 quarter increased to INR 7,588.08 crore from INR 6,596.39 crore reported a year earlier.

For the full financial year, the company reported a more than two-fold increase in net profit to INR 2,392.75 crore compared to INR 921.69 crore recorded during FY25. Total annual income rose to INR 28,325.16 crore from INR 24,446.55 crore in the previous fiscal year.

Adani Energy Solutions operates across power transmission, distribution, smart metering and energy infrastructure segments. The company has continued expanding its transmission network and utility infrastructure portfolio amid increasing investments in India’s power and energy transition sectors.
