In a significant development for housing in the Mohali region, the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) successfully conducted a draw last week to allocate 550 Purab Premium Apartments. The event took place at the community centre in Sector 69, Mohali, drawing considerable attention from potential homebuyers.
Gmada had initiated this scheme, offering a total of 550 apartments to the public. The response was notable, with a total of 313 applications received, highlighting the strong demand for affordable housing in the area. These applications were categorized into 90 for type-1 apartments, 98 for type-2, and 125 for type-3 apartments, reflecting the diversity of preferences among prospective homebuyers.
One noteworthy aspect of this initiative is the active involvement of various Punjab government departments. They have already secured 167 apartments for their staff, recognizing the value of these housing units in providing suitable accommodations for their employees. Furthermore, an additional 32 apartments have been purchased by the Department of Medical Education and Research, underlining the importance of accessible housing for key personnel in the healthcare sector.
For transparency and convenience, the results of the draw have been made available on the official GMADA website, gmada.gov.in. Successful applicants, as well as those on the waiting list, have been advised to submit all necessary documents by October 9 to proceed with the allocation process.
In accordance with the scheme's guidelines, GMADA has streamlined the allotment procedure. Allotment letters will be issued online to successful applicants by October 27, eliminating the need for physical copies. To ensure that applicants are promptly informed, notifications will be sent via SMS. However, for those facing difficulties in downloading the documents, the estate office is available to provide assistance.
Regarding payments, successful allottees are required to deposit 15% of the total apartment price (excluding the earnest money submitted with the application). Additionally, a 2% charge for Cancer Cess and another 2% for the Purab Premium Apartment Corpus Fund must be settled within 30 days of receiving the allotment letter.
This housing initiative represents a significant step in enhancing residential options for Mohali residents. It not only addresses the demand for affordable housing but also contributes to the overall growth and development of the community. The successful draw marks a positive milestone in GMADA's efforts to provide quality housing solutions to the people of Mohali.
