Synopsis

SoftTech Engineers Limited has launched a Single Window Approval System aimed at streamlining approvals for electric vehicle infrastructure and wayside amenities along national highways under the National Highway Electric Vehicle (NHEV) initiative. The digital platform is designed to integrate approvals related to land allocation, lease processing, design clearances, construction permits and operational authorisations within a unified ecosystem. According to the company, the system has been developed to support the government’s Ease of Doing Business objectives while accelerating deployment of EV charging infrastructure across highway corridors. The platform will cater to policymakers, developers, investors and service providers through centralised workflows, real-time project tracking and digitised compliance management.

SoftTech Engineers Limited has launched a technology-driven Single Window Approval System for electric vehicle infrastructure and wayside amenities under the National Highway Electric Vehicle initiative, aimed at accelerating the deployment of EV charging infrastructure across India’s national highway network.

The company stated that the platform has been developed as part of the broader Ease of Doing Business framework linked to the NHEV programme and is intended to digitise the approval and compliance ecosystem associated with EV infrastructure projects.

According to SoftTech Engineers Limited, the platform is designed to streamline the end-to-end project lifecycle, covering land allocation, lease processing, design approvals, construction permits and operational clearances through a unified digital interface.

The company stated that the system seeks to reduce approval timelines, improve transparency and strengthen coordination between government departments and infrastructure stakeholders involved in EV deployment projects.

Key features of the platform include centralised approval workflows integrating multiple project stakeholders, real-time monitoring of project stages, digitised compliance documentation and inter-departmental coordination mechanisms.

The system also incorporates lifecycle management tools intended to support projects from initial land identification and allocation through to final operational approval.

According to the company, the platform has been designed for three primary stakeholder groups comprising policymakers and government authorities, infrastructure developers and investors, and EV service providers operating within the highway ecosystem.

SoftTech Engineers stated that integrating all stakeholders onto a single digital interface is expected to improve accountability, accelerate decision-making and support scalable deployment of EV infrastructure along national transport corridors.

Vijay Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director of SoftTech Engineers Limited, stated that the initiative aligns with India’s broader electric mobility ambitions and aims to support faster and more transparent infrastructure deployment across national highways.

He added that digital integration of approvals and project management systems could contribute towards improving consumer confidence in EV adoption while supporting reduction in fossil fuel dependency over the long term.

The company also acknowledged the role of Abhijeet Sinha, National Program Director – Ease of Doing Business, for supporting technology-led implementation frameworks linked to the NHEV initiative.

Industry stakeholders indicate that India’s EV infrastructure sector is increasingly witnessing greater policy and private sector focus as the government seeks to expand charging networks across highways, urban centres and logistics corridors to support rising electric vehicle adoption.

The deployment of integrated approval systems is also expected to gain importance as highway-linked EV charging infrastructure expands alongside broader investments in mobility, logistics and sustainable transport ecosystems.

SoftTech Engineers, which operates in the Architecture, Engineering, Construction and Operations technology segment, stated that the launch further strengthens its role in delivering indigenous technology platforms for public infrastructure and governance projects aligned with the government’s Digital India mission.

Infrastructure experts note that streamlined approval systems are becoming increasingly important for large-scale EV infrastructure deployment due to the involvement of multiple regulatory agencies, utility providers, land authorities and transport stakeholders within the project execution process.
