AVPL International will inaugurate the first phase of its proposed INR 80 crore ‘Drone City Haryana’ project at Sisai village in Hisar district on May 16, as the Gurugram-based drone technology company moves ahead with plans to establish an integrated manufacturing and innovation ecosystem for unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technologies in Haryana.
According to officials, the project has received incentive support amounting to INR 58.51 crore under the Haryana Enterprise and Employment Policy-2020. The development is intended to support drone manufacturing, component production, testing, research, pilot training and entrepreneurship activities within a single industrial ecosystem.
Haryana Cabinet Minister Krishan Kumar Bedi is scheduled to inaugurate the facility in the presence of former finance minister Captain Abhimanyu, senior government officials and representatives from the drone and technology industry.
The company stated that the project is expected to generate employment and entrepreneurship opportunities for more than 800 youth across Haryana through drone manufacturing operations, technical services, pilot training and related industrial activities.
A special orientation programme under the ‘500 Drone Udhami Scheme’ for Scheduled Caste youth will also be conducted alongside the inauguration in collaboration with the Haryana Scheduled Castes Finance and Development Corporation. Under the programme, 500 SC youth are proposed to be trained as drone entrepreneurs, drone pilots, technicians and agri-drone service providers.
Spread over nearly 11.5 acres, the Drone City Haryana project will comprise 23 industrial sheds designed for drone and drone-component manufacturers from across the country. The facility is planned to support multiple categories of drone applications including agriculture drones, industrial drones, logistics drones, surveillance drones and advanced UAV systems.
The proposed ecosystem will include dedicated drone manufacturing units, component production facilities, testing and demonstration zones, research and development laboratories, pilot and technician training centres, agriculture drone operations and entrepreneurship development programmes.
Preet Sandhu, founder and managing director of AVPL International, stated that the project has been conceptualised to bring manufacturers, start-ups, innovators and training institutions together on a common platform focused on future technologies and drone-led industrial development.
The foundation stone for the project was laid by Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on September 8, 2025.
