Synopsis

Nexus Seawoods has launched ‘Panda World’, a themed indoor entertainment attraction aimed at families and children during the summer holiday period in Navi Mumbai. The experiential installation, which opened on May 9, features an oriental-inspired panda-themed environment with interactive gaming areas, activity zones, rides and performance spaces within the mall premises. The ticketed attraction is priced from INR 499 onwards and includes arcade zones, AR-based photo experiences, children’s workshops and themed installations. The initiative reflects the continued focus of organised retail destinations on experiential programming to increase visitor engagement and footfall during seasonal periods. Located in Navi Mumbai, Nexus Seawoods has been expanding family-oriented entertainment and event-based attractions as malls increasingly position themselves as mixed-use lifestyle destinations beyond conventional retail formats.

Nexus Seawoods has introduced a themed indoor entertainment experience titled ‘Panda World’ as part of its summer programming strategy aimed at increasing family footfall and visitor engagement during the holiday season.

The attraction, which opened on May 9 at the Navi Mumbai mall, has transformed sections of the retail destination into a panda-themed immersive environment featuring oriental-inspired décor, interactive activity zones and family-focused entertainment installations.

According to the organisers, the experience has been designed as a walk-through indoor attraction featuring bamboo-themed trails, pagoda-inspired elements, oversized panda installations and interactive storytelling sections targeted primarily at children and family audiences.

The installation includes a range of entertainment components such as panda-themed rides, seesaw attractions, arcade gaming areas, claw machines and dedicated carnival zones. Additional features include augmented reality-enabled photography experiences, themed photo stations and activity workshops intended to encourage interactive participation among younger visitors.

At the centre of the attraction is a performance and dance zone designed to host live activities and interactive entertainment sessions throughout the event period.

Entry to Panda World has been priced from INR 499 onwards, with the attraction positioned as a seasonal indoor recreational destination during the ongoing summer holiday period. The event is currently operational within the mall premises in Navi Mumbai.

The initiative reflects a broader trend across organised retail destinations in India, where mall operators are increasingly focusing on experiential formats and family-oriented programming to drive repeat visits and strengthen customer engagement. Industry stakeholders have indicated that entertainment-led activations, themed exhibitions and interactive events are becoming increasingly important for malls seeking to diversify beyond conventional shopping-led footfall models.

Located in Navi Mumbai, Nexus Seawoods functions as a mixed-use retail and lifestyle destination connected to the city’s transport network and residential catchment. Large-format retail centres across Mumbai Metropolitan Region have continued to expand event-led programming strategies in recent years, particularly during school vacations and festive periods, as operators compete for discretionary consumer spending and leisure-driven visits.

The growing integration of experiential entertainment within retail assets has also coincided with increased emphasis on community engagement, extended visitor dwell time and non-retail revenue generation opportunities within organised shopping destinations.
