• HG Infra Engineering has secured a highway construction contract worth INR 3,931.11 crore from Welspun Enterprises for a major road project in Maharashtra.
• The project involves six-laning of the Pune–Shirur section of NH-753F, including partially elevated stretches and upgrades to the existing corridor.
• The total project length is around 53.40 km and the company has been given 36 months to complete the construction work.
• The order is expected to strengthen HG Infra Engineering’s order book and improve long-term revenue visibility amid rising highway development activity across India.
• The project is also expected to improve traffic movement and connectivity in one of Maharashtra’s key industrial and logistics corridors.
H.G. Infra Engineering Ltd has received a Letter of Award from Welspun Enterprises for a road infrastructure project in Maharashtra valued at INR 3,931.11 crore, excluding GST. The contract involves development of a six-lane highway corridor on the Pune–Shirur section of NH-753F along with partially elevated stretches and improvement works on the existing route.
According to the company’s regulatory filing, the project will be executed under the item rate mode and will cover a minimum design length of 53.40 km between Km 10+600 and Km 64+000. The company has been given a timeline of 36 months to complete the project.
The Pune–Shirur stretch has witnessed rising traffic movement over the last few years due to increasing industrial activity, warehousing development and urban expansion around Pune. The highway corridor is considered an important route for freight and passenger traffic connecting manufacturing zones and nearby economic hubs in Maharashtra. The widening work is expected to ease congestion, improve travel speed and support smoother logistics movement in the region.
The latest order further strengthens HG Infra Engineering’s position in the engineering, procurement and construction sector, where roads and highways continue to remain its largest business segment. Over the past few years, the company has expanded its portfolio beyond highways and has secured projects in railways, metro infrastructure and renewable energy.
Earlier, the company had won several infrastructure contracts from central and state agencies, helping it build a strong execution pipeline across multiple states. Industry data from the previous financial year showed that HG Infra Engineering maintained an order book of over INR 15,000 crore, with a significant contribution coming from road construction projects.
The Maharashtra project is among the larger highway contracts secured by the company in recent quarters and is expected to provide steady revenue visibility over the next three years. The order also reflects continued government focus on road expansion and connectivity improvement projects, especially around high-growth urban and industrial corridors.
Road infrastructure activity has remained strong across Maharashtra with several highway expansion and expressway projects currently under implementation. Increased public spending on transport infrastructure is also driving demand for large EPC contractors with strong execution capabilities and experience in handling complex highway projects.
HG Infra Engineering has continued to focus on timely project delivery and diversification of its infrastructure portfolio while maintaining a strong presence in the highways sector. The company’s recent project wins indicate sustained momentum in order inflows despite rising competition in the infrastructure space.
