MIC Electronics has secured a new railway contract from Central Railway and expanded an ongoing project with Southern Railway, strengthening its presence in station modernisation initiatives. The Central Railway order, valued at over INR 1.12 crore, involves deployment of telecom and passenger information systems at Wardha station. Separately, the company’s Salem Division project under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme has been expanded, increasing its value to approximately INR 6.76 crore. The projects include installation of digital display systems and communication infrastructure aimed at improving real-time passenger information across stations.
MIC Electronics has secured a contract from Central Railway and expanded an ongoing project with Southern Railway, as part of its continued participation in railway infrastructure and station modernisation initiatives, according to disclosures made earlier this week.
The company has been awarded a contract worth over INR 1.12 crore by the Nagpur Division of Central Railway for the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of telecom systems and Passenger Information Display Systems at Wardha railway station. The project is aimed at improving real-time passenger communication and enhancing information dissemination at the station level.
In a parallel development, MIC Electronics is executing a project under the Salem Division of Southern Railway as part of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. The scope of this project has been expanded to include additional system requirements and stations, leading to a revision in project value to approximately INR 6.76 crore.
The expanded project covers deployment of integrated passenger information systems across multiple stations, including Tirupattur, Samalpatti, Morappur, Bommidi and Salem, along with a maintenance component extending over five years.
The scope of work across both projects includes installation of digital display boards, centralised data control systems, telecom infrastructure and integrated announcement systems designed to provide real-time updates to passengers. These systems are intended to improve accuracy and reliability of information, particularly in high-footfall stations.
Company officials indicated that the increasing focus on station upgrades and digital infrastructure under government-led programmes is creating opportunities for technology providers. The projects are aligned with broader efforts by Indian Railways to modernise station infrastructure and enhance passenger experience through technology-enabled solutions.
The contract wins also reflect MIC Electronics’ continued participation in railway tenders, where projects typically combine upfront system deployment with long-term maintenance components, providing a mix of execution-based and recurring revenue streams.
The developments form part of ongoing investments in railway infrastructure, where passenger information systems and telecom upgrades are being integrated into station redevelopment programmes to support operational efficiency and commuter convenience across the network.
