The Gujarat Chambers of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) has inaugurated its annual trade expo in Gandhinagar, bringing together 610 exhibitors across an exhibition area of 18,000 sq m, as the state seeks to promote industrial activity and provide a platform for businesses across sectors.

The event, which opened in the past week at the Exhibition Centre in Gandhinagar, is being held over three days and features participation from industries including automobiles, renewable energy, information technology, pharmaceuticals, textiles, artificial intelligence and cyber security. The exhibition is expected to draw significant footfall, with more than 30,000 visitors already registered and total attendance projected to reach around 50,000.

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, who inaugurated the expo, indicated that the event is aligned with the theme Gujarat Vision Global Ambition and is intended to support micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and emerging entrepreneurs by providing them with a platform to showcase capabilities and engage with industry stakeholders.

He stated that Gujarat's continued engagement with global investors has been supported by initiatives such as the Vibrant Gujarat Summit, which has played a role in positioning the state as an investment destination. Patel added that industry bodies such as GCCI have contributed to policymaking by providing on-ground feedback and participating in the planning and execution of such initiatives.

The Chief Minister highlighted Gujarat's economic contribution, noting that the state accounts for approximately 8.3 per cent of India's gross domestic product, 18 per cent of national industrial output and 31 per cent of exports. He also referred to the state's roadmap for long-term development, aimed at aligning with the broader national objective of building a developed economy by 2047.

According to organisers, the trade expo has been structured to facilitate business networking, knowledge exchange and market expansion opportunities for participating firms. The diversity of sectors represented reflects the state's industrial base as well as its focus on emerging technologies and future-ready industries.

The GCCI, as a representative industry body, continues to play a role in bridging the gap between industry and government by offering insights into sectoral challenges and opportunities. Its involvement in organising such large-scale exhibitions is aimed at strengthening industry linkages and supporting enterprise growth across the state.

The event is expected to generate business enquiries and partnerships, particularly for MSMEs seeking to expand their market presence and connect with larger industry players, both within Gujarat and beyond.
