Vihang Ahead has entered into an agreement with Radisson Hotel Group to develop two hotel properties in Thane and Mira Bhayandar, adding a combined 217 keys to its hospitality portfolio. The projects, to be developed with an investment of around INR 200 crore through internal accruals, are expected to be operational over the next three to five years. The move reflects a strategic expansion into hospitality within high-growth urban clusters in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The developments are also expected to generate local employment while aligning with rising demand from business and MICE segments in emerging suburban markets.
Vihang Ahead, the residential and commercial development arm of the Vihang Group, has partnered with Radisson Hotel Group to develop two hotel properties—Radisson Hotel Mumbai Thane and Radisson Hotel Mumbai Mira Bhayandar—with a combined inventory of 217 keys, backed by an estimated investment of INR 200 crore.
The dual signing, announced in the past week, marks the company’s entry into larger-scale branded hospitality developments within the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The projects will be funded through internal accruals and are expected to become operational over staggered timelines, with the Thane property likely to be completed within three to four years and the Mira Bhayandar hotel within around five years.
The proposed hotels are intended to cater to growing demand from business travellers as well as meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) segments, particularly in suburban and peripheral urban clusters witnessing increasing commercial activity. The company indicated that these locations offer opportunities to develop organised hospitality assets in markets that are currently underserved by international brands.
Vihang Ahead currently operates two hospitality properties under its own brand in Thane, with a combined capacity of 57 keys. The addition of internationally branded hotels is expected to expand its presence in the segment while enhancing the quality of hospitality infrastructure in the region.
The developments are also expected to generate more than 200 jobs, with a focus on local employment. Company representatives indicated that the initiative aligns with a broader strategy to deepen presence in high-growth urban clusters and cater to evolving demand patterns in business-centric locations.
Radisson Hotel Group’s regional leadership conveyed that the collaboration is aimed at strengthening its footprint in emerging urban markets and responding to rising demand for branded hospitality offerings in cities experiencing economic and infrastructure-led growth.
Looking ahead, Vihang Ahead indicated that it has a pipeline of five additional hospitality projects in Mira Bhayandar, all proposed under international brands. The company is in discussions with multiple global operators and expects to formalise further partnerships during the current financial year.
The group also outlined plans to expand its hospitality presence across Maharashtra, particularly in locations with significant business activity but limited presence of international hotel brands. This includes potential opportunities in industrial zones such as Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) areas, as well as destinations linked to spiritual and wellness tourism.
The expansion reflects a broader trend of real estate developers diversifying into hospitality, particularly in suburban markets where improving connectivity and commercial growth are driving demand for organised accommodation.
