Cityvarasto Oyj has acquired a property company in Turku, Finland, from an international investor, strengthening its real estate portfolio. The deal includes leasehold rights to a land parcel of around 15,000 square metres along with seven buildings located on the site. The acquisition aligns with the company’s ongoing strategy of expanding its storage and logistics footprint across key Finnish cities. While financial details were not disclosed, the transaction reflects continued investor interest in Nordic real estate assets, particularly in segments supported by stable demand such as storage and light industrial spaces.
Cityvarasto Oyj has completed the acquisition of real estate company Sumo Tierankatu 5 Oy in Turku, Finland, from an international investor, according to an update shared in the past week.
The transaction includes the land lease rights for a plot measuring approximately 15,000 square metres. In addition, the deal covers seven buildings located within the property complex. The site is expected to support the company’s core operations, particularly in the storage and space rental segment.
Turku, one of Finland’s key regional cities, has seen steady demand for logistics and storage-related assets in recent years, supported by urban growth and evolving business needs. Cityvarasto, which focuses on providing storage solutions, has been expanding its presence across major Finnish cities to strengthen its operational network.
While the company did not disclose the financial value of the transaction, such acquisitions are typically aimed at securing long-term operational capacity and stable rental income. In the past, Cityvarasto has pursued similar property deals to scale its portfolio and improve service coverage in urban locations.
The inclusion of multiple buildings within a single site also allows for flexible usage, which is increasingly important in the storage and light industrial sector. The leased land structure is a common model in Finland, enabling companies to utilise strategically located land without outright ownership.
