Radisson Hotel Group has signed agreements to develop two resort properties in Coorg, Karnataka, in partnership with SLN Hotels & Resorts, marking its entry into the leisure destination. The projects include the 102-key Purple Mist Resort & Spa and the 78-room Purple Palms Resort & Spa. The dual-resort model is designed to cater to both individual travellers and large-scale events. The move aligns with growing demand for leisure hospitality assets in high-traffic destinations. Radisson currently has over 200 hotels operational and under development across India, and the Coorg expansion reflects its continued focus on strengthening its presence in resort markets.
Radisson Hotel Group has signed agreements to develop two resort properties in Coorg, Karnataka, in partnership with SLN Hotels & Resorts, marking its entry into one of the country’s established leisure hospitality destinations.
The agreements, announced in the past week, cover the development of the 102-key Purple Mist Resort & Spa and the 78-room Purple Palms Resort & Spa. Both properties are expected to strengthen the group’s presence in the leisure segment while expanding its footprint in southern India.
According to Nikhil Sharma, Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer, South Asia, Radisson Hotel Group, the company is entering the Coorg market with a differentiated strategy. He indicated that the dual-resort model would allow the group to create a combined hospitality offering capable of serving both individual leisure travellers and large-format events.
The two developments are positioned to address increasing demand for resort-based accommodation in destinations such as Coorg, which continues to attract both domestic tourists and corporate groups. The dual-property approach is expected to provide operational flexibility, enabling the hosting of events, conferences and group bookings alongside regular leisure stays.
The expansion also reflects a broader trend within India’s hospitality real estate sector, where operators are strengthening their presence in high-demand leisure markets amid sustained growth in domestic travel. Coorg, Karnataka, has seen consistent interest from hotel operators due to its established tourism ecosystem and accessibility from major urban centres.
Radisson Hotel Group currently has over 200 hotels in operation and under development across India, spanning business, leisure and mixed-use hospitality segments. The addition of the Coorg projects is expected to further diversify its portfolio, particularly within resort-driven destinations.

The entity, previously known as JSW Sambalpur Steel Ltd, has been renamed JSW JFE Steel Limited, coinciding with the completion of 15 years of the strategic alliance between the two companies.
The unveiling ceremony was attended by senior government officials and industry leaders, including Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, JSW Group Chairman Sajjan Jindal, and representatives from JFE Holdings and the Japanese embassy.
