Gautam Buddha University is set to host a two-day national conference on environment, public health and policy integration at its campus in Greater Noida later this week. Titled “The Nexus Imperative: Environment, Public Health and Policy for a Sustainable Future (EHP Nexus 2026)”, the event will be held at the university’s main auditorium and is being organised by the Department of Environmental Science under the School of Vocational Studies and Applied Sciences.
The conference is being conducted under the patronage of the university’s leadership and is supported by the Indian Council of Social Science Research. It is expected to attract participation from researchers, academicians and policy practitioners across the country, with more than 100 research paper abstracts anticipated.
The programme will cover a range of themes including climate change, air and water pollution, circular economy frameworks, environmental justice, ESG practices, and sustainable development. It will also examine the application of artificial intelligence in environmental monitoring and emphasise the “One Health” approach, which integrates human, animal and ecosystem health.
Organisers indicated that the conference aims to create a platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration between academia, policymakers and industry stakeholders. The discussions are expected to focus on developing practical solutions to address environmental degradation and public health challenges through policy alignment and scientific research.
Participants will have opportunities to present research, engage with subject experts, and explore publication avenues and career pathways. Registrations and abstract submissions have been invited up to the lead-up to the event.
Industry participation is also part of the conference framework, with corporate stakeholders supporting the initiative. Representatives associated with the event highlighted the need for responsible development practices and greater alignment between real estate activity and environmental sustainability, particularly in the context of long-term urban growth and ecosystem management.
The conference reflects growing institutional focus on integrating environmental and public health considerations into policy frameworks, as India continues to address challenges linked to urbanisation, climate risks and sustainable development.
