The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) has entered into a land sale agreement with Southern Globe Hotels and Resorts Ltd. for setting up a four-star Courtyard by Marriott hotel in Amaravati. The project involves an investment of around INR 140 crore and will include about 150 rooms. Located in Lingayapalem village, the development is expected to create nearly 200 jobs and improve hospitality infrastructure in the capital region. The company has been given defined timelines for approvals, construction, and project completion, aligning with the broader plan to strengthen Amaravati's urban and economic ecosystem.
The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) has formalised an agreement for the sale of land with Southern Globe Hotels and Resorts Ltd., a special purpose vehicle of Southern Travels Private Limited and Globe Civil Projects Limited, for the development of a four-star hotel in Amaravati.
The agreement was executed in the past week for a project that will operate under the Courtyard by Marriott brand. The proposed hotel will involve an estimated investment of around INR 140 crore and is planned to offer nearly 150 rooms. The development is also expected to generate employment for close to 200 people, contributing to local job creation.
For this project, APCRDA has allotted around 2 acres of land in Lingayapalem village, which falls within the Amaravati Capital City area. The allotment has been carried out as per applicable government orders and required approvals, ensuring compliance with regulatory norms.
As part of the agreement conditions, the company is required to secure all necessary statutory approvals within three months. Construction is expected to begin within six months, while the entire project, including operational launch, must be completed within two years in line with approved plans and regulations.
The agreement was signed by Joint Director (Estates) Jubin Cheeran Roy on behalf of APCRDA, while Southern Globe Hotels and Resorts Ltd. was represented by its authorised signatory Krishna Mohan Alapati.
Officials from APCRDA indicated that such investments are expected to support Amaravati's growth as an administrative and commercial centre. They highlighted that the addition of branded hospitality projects would help strengthen tourism infrastructure and improve the city's positioning for business and institutional activities.
Amaravati has been gradually seeing renewed focus on infrastructure and institutional development after earlier delays, with authorities aiming to attract private investments across sectors such as hospitality, commercial real estate, and urban services. The entry of an international hotel brand is seen as a step towards building supporting infrastructure for future government and corporate activity in the region.
