Synopsis

Enviro Infra Engineers has secured sewage infrastructure projects worth INR 972 crore in Maharashtra under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) 2.0, strengthening its presence in the urban wastewater segment. The contracts, awarded for multiple urban local bodies, involve development of sewage treatment plants (STPs), interception and diversion networks, and extensive sewer pipeline systems across Pune and Nashik regions. The projects will be executed on an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) basis within a 24-month timeline. The initiative is aimed at improving sanitation infrastructure and wastewater management in smaller and mid-sized urban centres, particularly those with populations below one lakh. The orders also expand the company's project pipeline and align with ongoing government efforts to enhance urban sanitation coverage across Maharashtra.

Enviro Infra Engineers has secured two sewage infrastructure projects valued at INR 972 crore in recent days under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) 2.0, across multiple urban local bodies in Maharashtra, with the objective of strengthening wastewater treatment capacity and improving sanitation infrastructure through engineering, procurement and construction (EPC)-based execution.

The contracts comprise two distinct project packages covering urban centres in the Pune and Nashik regions. Under the first package, which focuses on smaller urban local bodies with sewage treatment capacity below 5 MLD, the company will develop 120.50 MLD of sewage treatment capacity, along with 209 km of interception and diversion networks and approximately 887.20 km of sewer pipelines. This component is valued at INR 587.21 crore and targets towns with populations below one lakh.

The second package pertains to larger urban local bodies in the Nashik region, involving the development of 121.10 MLD sewage treatment capacity, supported by 105.50 km of interception and diversion infrastructure and 433.68 km of sewer pipelines. This contract has been awarded at a value of INR 384.98 crore.

Both projects are scheduled to be completed within a 24-month period and will be executed on a turnkey EPC basis, covering design, construction, and commissioning of sewage treatment and conveyance systems.

Officials indicated that the projects are part of a broader effort to improve urban sanitation infrastructure in smaller and mid-sized towns, where wastewater management systems remain underdeveloped. The works are expected to enhance treatment capacity, reduce untreated sewage discharge, and support compliance with environmental norms across participating urban local bodies.

The scope of the projects includes not only the construction of sewage treatment plants but also the development of associated sewerage networks, including interception and diversion systems designed to channel wastewater to treatment facilities. These systems form a critical component of urban sanitation planning, particularly in areas where legacy infrastructure is limited or fragmented.

Enviro Infra Engineers, which operates in the water and wastewater treatment segment, has indicated that the contracts do not involve any related party transactions, with no promoter or group company interest in the awarding authority. The company has over a decade of experience in executing water supply and wastewater treatment projects for government bodies, including sewage treatment plants, sewerage schemes, and effluent treatment facilities.

The latest order win adds to the company's existing project pipeline and reflects continued investment in sanitation infrastructure under national programmes such as Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) 2.0. The initiative focuses on achieving sustainable urban sanitation through improved sewage treatment, reuse, and management systems, particularly in emerging urban centres.

The award of these contracts highlights the ongoing push towards decentralised wastewater infrastructure development, with smaller towns increasingly being integrated into formal sanitation frameworks through targeted capital investment and EPC-led project delivery.
