Aster DM Healthcare has announced an investment of INR 96 crore to expand its women and children's facility at Aster Whitefield Hospital in Bengaluru, strengthening its healthcare infrastructure in the city.
The expansion will increase the hospital's bed capacity from 380 to 539 beds, according to a company statement.
The move comes amid rising demand for specialised maternal and paediatric care. The company said the upgraded facility will enhance both capacity and clinical capabilities, offering integrated care services for mothers and children.
Aster DM Healthcare Founder and Chairman Azad Moopen said the expansion reflects the group's focus on advanced infrastructure and specialised treatment. He added that the facility aims to provide comprehensive care under one roof.
The development is part of Aster's broader expansion strategy in Bengaluru. The company is also planning a 500-bed hospital in Yeshwantpur and a 430-bed facility in Sarjapur.
With these additions, Aster's total bed capacity in Karnataka is expected to reach 2,573 beds. The expansion is aimed at strengthening its regional presence and positioning among the leading private healthcare providers in the state.
The investment highlights continued growth in healthcare real estate and infrastructure, driven by increasing demand for quality medical services in urban centres.
