Synopsis

Dilip Buildcon Limited, through its joint venture with Ranjit Buildcon, has secured the lowest bidder position for an INR 268 crore water infrastructure project in Gujarat. The contract involves the construction of the Ged barrage across the Sabarmati river along with protection works and allied activities. Executed under the EPC model, the project also includes a 10-year operation and maintenance period. With a construction timeline of 24 months, the order strengthens the company's water infrastructure portfolio and adds stability to its existing order book.

Dilip Buildcon Limited, in joint venture with Ranjit Buildcon Limited, has been declared the lowest bidder for a Gujarat-based infrastructure project valued at INR 268 crore, as per a recent regulatory update.

The contract has been awarded by the Narmada Water Resources, Water Supply and Kalpasar Department under the Government of Gujarat. The scope of work includes the design and construction of the Ged barrage across the Sabarmati river, along with river protection works and other associated infrastructure. The project is located between the Hirpura barrage and the Lakroda weir in the Sabarkantha district.

The project will be executed under the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) model, which places responsibility for design, execution and delivery on the contractor. In addition to construction, the contract also includes operation and maintenance of the barrage for a period of 10 years, ensuring long-term involvement beyond the execution phase.

The company has indicated that the construction period for the project is 24 months. It has also clarified that the contract is domestic in nature and does not fall under related-party transactions.

Barrage projects across rivers such as the Sabarmati play an important role in water storage, irrigation support and flow regulation in the region. Gujarat has seen multiple such projects in the past aimed at improving water availability and supporting agricultural requirements, especially in districts dependent on seasonal water flow.

Dilip Buildcon has been actively expanding its presence in water infrastructure along with its core road and highway portfolio. The company has previously secured irrigation, dam and urban infrastructure projects across several states, including Gujarat, which continues to be a key market for such developments. This order further strengthens its execution pipeline and provides additional revenue visibility over both the construction and maintenance phases.
