The Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) in Gurugram has cleared all pending complaints up to 2024, marking a significant improvement in case resolution. The authority stated that over 2,000 cases pending as of the end of the past financial year have now been resolved. In 2025 alone, more than 5,000 complaints were adjudicated, with relief provided in the form of refunds or delayed possession charges based on case merits. Gurugram RERA now leads in complaint disposal efficiency among RERA bodies, despite being among the top in complaint registrations.
The Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) in Gurugram has completed the disposal of all complaints that were pending until 2024, according to an official update. The authority indicated that all cases currently under adjudication now belong to 2025 onwards.
A total of 2,174 complaints that were pending as of the end of the last financial year have been resolved. This marks a complete clearance of backlog cases, reflecting a focused effort to improve case turnaround time and reduce delays in grievance redressal.
During 2025, the authority adjudicated 5,024 complaints. Based on the merits of each case, relief was provided either in the form of refunds or delayed possession charges (DPC), which remain among the most common issues raised by homebuyers in the region.
Data available on the RERA status trackers maintained by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs shows that Gurugram RERA ranks third in terms of the number of complaints registered. However, it stands at the top position when it comes to disposal of registered complaints, indicating higher efficiency in resolving disputes.
This performance is notable given Gurugram's position as one of the most active real estate markets in the National Capital Region, where project delays and delivery timelines have historically led to a high volume of consumer complaints. Over the past few years, RERA authorities across states have been under pressure to improve enforcement and ensure timely resolution, especially in markets with large-scale residential developments.
