Synopsis

Infrastructure expansion across North India, especially in Delhi-NCR, is driving steady growth in the professional audiovisual (Pro-AV) hardware market. The region contributes nearly 40-45 per cent of the national market, supported by rising demand from corporate offices, retail, hospitality and public infrastructure. Large projects such as airports, expressways and religious tourism hubs are increasing the use of digital signage, lighting and sound systems. With higher-than-global growth rates and increasing adoption of premium solutions, the market is seeing consistent expansion backed by urban development and digital infrastructure investments.

Infrastructure development across North India is supporting the growth of the professional audiovisual (Pro-AV) hardware market, with Delhi-NCR continuing to be a key demand centre. Data shared by Informa Markets shows that the region contributes around 40-45 per cent of India's overall AV hardware market, driven by demand from corporate offices, public infrastructure and institutional projects. The presence of large business hubs and government-led developments has strengthened adoption of AV solutions across multiple sectors.

Large infrastructure projects such as the Noida International Airport and the Dwarka Expressway have led to the development of new commercial spaces, retail centres and office hubs. This has increased the requirement for integrated AV systems, including digital displays, conferencing solutions and public announcement systems. The company indicated that such infrastructure-led urban expansion is directly influencing demand for advanced AV installations as part of modern building design.

The Indian Pro-AV market is currently growing at a compound annual rate of around 7.2 to 9.7 per cent, which is higher than the global average of nearly 5 per cent. Within this, the professional lighting segment is expected to reach about USD 391 million in 2026, growing at approximately 10.5 per cent annually. This growth is supported by increased usage in commercial spaces, large venues and public infrastructure projects.

Demand is also rising from cities such as Ayodhya, Varanasi and Amritsar, where investments in religious and tourism infrastructure have led to the installation of permanent lighting, sound systems and LED display solutions. These cities are seeing a shift from temporary setups to fixed AV infrastructure to support large-scale gatherings and events throughout the year.

At the same time, the expansion of luxury hotels and destination wedding venues, particularly in Rajasthan and Delhi-NCR, has made professional AV solutions an essential part of project planning. Industry observations indicate that premium audio adoption in North India is about 25 per cent higher than the national average, reflecting stronger demand from high-end hospitality and event segments.

The region also benefits from a strong base of corporate headquarters, educational institutions and large event venues, along with higher disposable incomes and increased investment in digital infrastructure. This combination is supporting steady demand for AV technologies across both private and public sector projects.

Informa Markets Managing Director in India stated that the decision to host the Professional Audio, Lighting and Music Production Expo in New Delhi reflects the scale and maturity of the regional market. He added that the professional audio market in India is currently valued between USD 750 million and USD 850 million, while the lighting segment is approaching USD 2 billion, both showing consistent growth.

The Professional Audio, Lighting and Music Production Expo is scheduled to be held in New Delhi from January 7-9, 2027. The event is expected to attract around 5,000-7,000 industry professionals and will provide a platform for showcasing technologies and strengthening business engagement within the AV industry.
