Synopsis

Texmaco Rail & Engineering Ltd has secured a contract worth over INR 421 crore from JSW Group companies to supply freight wagon rakes. The deal highlights the increasing role of private companies in rail logistics, supported by Indian Railways policy push to improve freight efficiency and reduce costs. The wagons are designed for high-capacity container movement and are expected to strengthen industrial supply chains. The order also reinforces Texmaco's established presence in the private freight wagon segment, where demand has been rising due to growing infrastructure and logistics needs.

Texmaco Rail & Engineering Ltd announced that it has secured a contract worth over INR 421 crore from JSW Group companies for the supply of freight wagon rakes. The order comes at a time when private sector participation in rail logistics is increasing, supported by policy measures from Indian Railways aimed at improving freight movement and lowering logistics costs.

The contract involves the supply of wagons designed for high-capacity container transport. These wagons are expected to enhance operational efficiency across industrial supply chains, particularly in the movement of containerised cargo, which has seen steady growth in recent years due to increased manufacturing and export activity.

Industry trends indicate that private investment in freight wagons has picked up after Indian Railways introduced schemes such as the liberalised wagon investment framework. This has allowed companies to procure and operate their own wagons, improving turnaround time and reducing dependence on conventional freight systems.

The managing director of Texmaco Rail & Engineering Ltd, Sudipta Mukherjee, stated that the order from JSW Group companies further strengthens the company's long-standing role in supporting India's expanding private freight wagon ecosystem. He indicated that such orders reflect continued confidence from large industrial players in Texmaco's manufacturing capabilities.

Texmaco Rail & Engineering Ltd, part of the Adventz Group, is a listed entity and operates as a key player in the railway and infrastructure sector. The company has been involved in wagon manufacturing, rail EPC projects, and infrastructure solutions, and has contributed to both public and private sector railway developments over the years.
