Synopsis

Swedish construction firm Skanska has committed CZK 917 million (about SEK 400 million) to the final phase of its Albatros Kbely residential development in Prague, Czech Republic, advancing a large urban housing project that has been rolling out in stages. The last segment will add 178 low energy apartments to the development, bringing the total to 688 homes when complete. The neighbourhood includes extensive public green areas and civic amenities and has been designed with energy and water efficiency in mind. Construction on this concluding phase has begun this month and is planned to finish in early 2028.

Skanska AB has moved forward with its residential development in Prague by allocating CZK 917 million, equal to about SEK 400 million, to the final phase of the Albatros Kbely housing project.

This concluding stage will deliver 178 low energy apartments, completing the five phase project that cumulatively will offer 688 homes once all units are finished and occupied.

The Albatros Kbely neighbourhood has been planned as a well rounded urban district with a focus on sustainable living. Across the full development, more than 15,000 square metres of green space has been integrated, alongside facilities such as a supermarket and a kindergarten to serve future residents. Civic spaces and play or relaxation areas have been included to support community life.

Skanska has incorporated energy efficient and water efficient solutions throughout the project and the buildings are designed with environmental performance standards that align with recognised sustainability certification. Prefabricated bathrooms have been used in most apartments to support construction efficiency.

Construction on this final segment started this month, with completion expected in early 2028. This development builds on Skanska's broader track record of phased residential projects in Prague and other Czech localities, including earlier investments in low energy housing schemes that emphasise sustainability and community oriented design.
