Ramky Infrastructure Limited has secured an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract worth about INR 1,401.84 crore from Maharashtra Industrial Township Limited for infrastructure development at the Dighi Port Industrial Area in Raigad district, Maharashtra. The project is part of the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor initiative and covers the creation of core industrial infrastructure such as roads, water supply networks, drainage systems, sewerage facilities, power distribution and ICT utilities. The construction period is 930 days, after which the company will operate and maintain the developed infrastructure for four years, with a possible extension period.

The development is part of the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) programme, a national initiative aimed at building large industrial regions and logistics hubs along the freight corridor connecting Delhi and Mumbai. The Dighi Port Industrial Area is being developed as one of the important industrial nodes under this programme, with the aim of supporting manufacturing, logistics and export-oriented industries.
Maharashtra Industrial Township Limited, the project authority that awarded the contract, is a special purpose company formed jointly by the Government of India and the Government of Maharashtra. The organisation is responsible for planning and implementing the integrated industrial township near Dighi Port and for creating the necessary infrastructure to attract industrial investment in the region.
Under the scope of the contract, Ramky Infrastructure will undertake design, engineering, construction, testing and commissioning of several key infrastructure facilities required for the industrial area. These include development of internal road networks, bridges and cross-drainage structures that will support movement within the industrial zone. Stormwater drainage systems will also be built to manage rainwater and reduce flooding risks within the township.
The project also includes the creation of water supply infrastructure such as a water treatment plant, storage reservoirs and distribution pipelines. Sewerage systems and industrial effluent collection networks with pumping stations will be constructed to manage wastewater generated by industrial units planned in the area. Recycled water distribution systems are also part of the project design to support sustainable water management within the industrial township.
In addition to water and drainage infrastructure, the contract includes development of power distribution systems for the area. This will involve building electrical substations, transformers and related infrastructure to ensure reliable electricity supply to future industries. Utility ducts for information and communication technology networks will also be installed to support digital and communication services required by industrial and logistics operations.
Project details shared through regulatory disclosures indicate that the construction phase will be completed within 930 days from the appointed date. After completion of the infrastructure works, Ramky Infrastructure will be responsible for operating and maintaining the systems for a period of four years. The agreement also allows the operations and maintenance period to be extended by up to six additional years based on mutual agreement between the project authority and the contractor.
The Dighi Port Industrial Area covers more than 5,000 hectares in Raigad district and is planned as a large industrial ecosystem connected to port infrastructure. The location offers connectivity through the Mumbai-Goa highway and road networks linking Pune and other industrial centres in Maharashtra. These connections are expected to help industries move goods efficiently to domestic markets and export gateways.
Dighi Port itself has seen several developments over the past decade. The port started operations in 2018 and later went through a change in ownership through an insolvency resolution process. It is currently operated by Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone, which has announced expansion plans to increase cargo handling capacity and strengthen its role as a regional maritime gateway.
The industrial area being developed near the port is expected to complement these expansion plans by creating space for manufacturing and logistics activities close to the harbour. Industrial clusters proposed for the region are expected to support sectors such as engineering, food processing, chemicals and pharmaceuticals, which often require strong port connectivity for exports and imports.
For Ramky Infrastructure, the contract adds another large industrial infrastructure project to its order book. The company has been involved in projects across sectors such as urban infrastructure, water and wastewater systems, transportation projects and industrial infrastructure development across several states in India. Over the past few years, it has secured multiple contracts related to utility infrastructure and industrial township development.
