H.G. Infra Engineering Ltd has emerged as the lowest (L-1) bidder for a road project awarded by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), as informed by the company in a regulatory filing in the past week. The contract pertains to the construction of the Capital Region Ring Road, Package III, in Odisha under the Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM).
NHAI had estimated the project cost at INR 1,827.33 crore. H.G. Infra quoted INR 1,582.11 crore, excluding GST, making it the lowest bidder for the assignment. The company stated that the construction period is 910 days from the appointed date.
The project involves building a six-lane access-controlled highway covering a total length of 40.33 km. The stretch will run from Design Chainage km 70+995 at Gobindpur on NH-55 to Design Chainage km 111+325 at Tangi near the Bandola Toll Plaza on NH-16. The corridor forms part of the larger Capital Region Ring Road planned around Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
The Capital Region Ring Road has been taken up to decongest traffic in and around Bhubaneswar and Cuttack and to improve regional connectivity between key national highways. Earlier packages of the ring road have also been tendered by NHAI as part of the phased development of this corridor. The project is expected to strengthen road infrastructure in the state and support smoother movement of passenger and freight traffic across the capital region.
H.G. Infra Engineering Ltd is an established infrastructure construction company with a strong presence in the road and highway segment. The latest bid adds to its existing order book, subject to receipt of the formal letter of award and fulfilment of other conditions as per tender norms.
