Haryana's revenue and disaster management department has introduced Bhu Mitra, a WhatsApp chatbot providing 24/7 access to land and revenue services in Hindi and English. The tool allows citizens to request Jamabandi copies, Mutation records, compensation registrations, and deed registrations, as well as generate deed tokens, request land demarcation, lodge complaints, and track status in real time. Citizens can use it by saving a dedicated WhatsApp number. SMS updates for deed registration will also soon be available. The initiative aims to improve efficiency, transparency, and convenience, reducing physical visits and bureaucratic delays.
Haryana's revenue and disaster management department recently launched Bhu Mitra, a WhatsApp-based chatbot designed to make land and revenue services more accessible and efficient for citizens across the state. The service operates 24x7 in both Hindi and English, enabling residents to access key government services from their smartphones without visiting offices.
Financial Commissioner Sumita Misra explained that the chatbot is a conversational platform that provides citizens with essential revenue services directly on WhatsApp. It eliminates the need to navigate complex portals or stand in queues, allowing users to access critical information and services from home at any time.
Currently, Bhu Mitra offers four primary services: obtaining Jamabandi copies for land ownership and cultivation records, retrieving Mutation records for ownership changes, registering compensation claims, and facilitating property deed registration. In addition, it enables citizens to generate deed tokens, request land demarcation, lodge complaints related to land and revenue, and track the status of those complaints in real time, all through a simple chat interface.
To use the service, citizens save the WhatsApp number 95933 00009 and start a conversation. The bilingual interface ensures inclusivity, helping reach citizens in urban and rural areas alike. Misra highlighted that the platform reduces bureaucratic delays and empowers residents with real-time information at their fingertips.
Starting next week, SMS notifications for deed registration will be integrated into Bhu Mitra, providing timely updates directly to users. The department also plans to add more services in the coming weeks, further strengthening digital governance and expanding citizen convenience.
This initiative builds on Haryana's ongoing digital reforms in revenue management, including previous measures like paperless registry systems, online demarcation portals, and tools to monitor revenue court cases. Each step reflects a broader effort to improve transparency, efficiency, and accessibility in state services.
