Managing Director of Amaravati Growth & Infrastructure Corporation Limited, SVR Srinivas, recently inspected major construction works underway in the capital city of Amaravati. The visit covered key sites within the Amaravati Government Complex including the Legislative Assembly building, Lok Bhavan and the Happy Nest residential project. During the visit, the Managing Director assessed construction progress and held review discussions with contractors and engineering teams involved in the developments. The inspection covered the construction of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly building, Lok Bhavan and the Happy Nest residential project. These projects form part of the larger effort to develop core administrative and residential infrastructure in the capital region.
Following the site inspections, Srinivas held a review meeting with contractors and engineering staff responsible for the ongoing construction work. Engineering officers presented detailed updates on the status of each project and explained the progress achieved at the respective sites.
During the interaction, the Managing Director instructed the concerned officials and engineering teams to ensure that construction continues as per the planned schedule while maintaining strict quality standards. He directed them to complete the works within the targets already set for the projects.
The projects inspected during the visit are considered important components of the government's plan to establish the administrative base of Amaravati. The Legislative Assembly complex and Lok Bhavan are intended to support legislative and administrative functions, while the Happy Nest development has been designed as a large residential project aimed at providing modern housing facilities in the capital region.
Development of Amaravati as the capital of Andhra Pradesh has been ongoing since the state's bifurcation in 2014, after which plans were initiated to build a new administrative city with government offices, public infrastructure and residential developments. Over the years, several projects in the region have progressed in phases depending on policy decisions, funding availability and administrative priorities.
Recent inspections by senior officials are part of efforts to monitor the pace of construction and ensure that key infrastructure works move forward according to the planned timelines. Regular reviews are also conducted to address execution challenges and coordinate between contractors and government agencies involved in the development.
