Ceigall India Limited has emerged as the lowest bidder for a highway construction project in Arunachal Pradesh through a joint venture with Sushee Infra & Mining Limited. The project, awarded by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), has a bid value of about INR 521 crore.
The contract relates to the construction of a section of National Highway-913, commonly known as the Frontier Highway. The companies informed stock exchanges about the development through a regulatory filing under SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) regulations.
Under the joint venture structure, Ceigall India will hold a 74 percent stake while Sushee Infra & Mining Limited will hold the remaining 26 percent. The companies will jointly execute the project under the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) model, where the contractor is responsible for design, procurement of materials and construction of the project.
The scope of work includes the construction of the Huri Taliha section of NH-913 in Arunachal Pradesh. The highway package covers around 55.725 km and will be developed to intermediate lane standards. According to project details, the work will be completed within a period of about 36 months from the appointed date.
NH-913, known as the Frontier Highway, is an important road corridor planned along the northern border of Arunachal Pradesh. The highway runs close to the India-China border and is intended to improve road connectivity in remote areas of the state. Once completed, the corridor is expected to strengthen transportation links between border districts and the rest of the northeastern region.
Infrastructure development in the northeastern states has received increased focus in recent years, with several highway and connectivity projects being taken up by the central government to improve accessibility and logistics in difficult terrain. The Frontier Highway project forms part of these broader efforts to enhance connectivity and support economic activity in the region.
Ceigall India is involved in the construction of highways, expressways, bridges, flyovers and railway overbridges across different states in India. The company executes projects under EPC and Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) formats and has been expanding its order book through multiple highway contracts.
Winning this project adds another road construction contract to the company's portfolio and strengthens its presence in the highway infrastructure segment. The project will also contribute to improving connectivity in one of the country's most remote regions once construction is completed.
