The Odisha government has approved 23 new industrial investment proposals totalling INR 4,111.80 crore, with the potential to create nearly 10,000 jobs across the state, officials announced following the 144th meeting of the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA). The meeting was presided over by Chief Secretary Anu Garg in Bhubaneswar, and the approvals form part of Odisha's ongoing efforts to strengthen its industrial base and attract diversified investment.
The approved projects cover a wide spectrum of sectors, ranging from mechanical and electrical capital goods, apparel and textiles, aerospace and defence manufacturing, to shipbuilding and ship-repair facilities, pharmaceuticals, chemicals and refractories. Other sectors include aluminium downstream industries, mineral beneficiation, metal downstream processing, plastics, glass manufacturing, and logistics and warehousing infrastructure. Officials highlighted that this breadth reflects the state's resilient and future-ready industrial strategy.
Projects will be implemented across 11 districts, ensuring a regionally balanced industrial development footprint. Among the notable investments approved are metal processing and beneficiation plants in districts such as Sundargarh, railway component manufacturing facilities in Khurda, and a multi-drone manufacturing centre in Ganjam, which is expected to contribute significant employment opportunities. Hospitality sector investments including new five-star hotel projects in Khurda and Puri also received clearance as part of the package.
The SLSWCA said that these investments are expected to create around 9,924 direct and indirect jobs, addressing employment needs in both urban and rural areas of the state. Officials pointed out that the industrial proposals reflect growing investor confidence in Odisha's policy environment and infrastructure support, and that implementation of these projects will further strengthen the state's appeal as a competitive manufacturing and industrial destination.
The clearance of these proposals follows Odisha's broader industrial trajectory, which has seen the state government approve larger investment proposals in recent months across sectors such as metals, energy, chemicals and high-technology manufacturing, reinforcing momentum in regional industrial growth and employment generation.
