Pace Digitek has secured a 250 MW solar power project combined with a 1.1 GWh battery energy storage system in Karnataka's Pavagada Solar Park. Awarded by Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Ltd under a tariff-based competitive bidding process, the project is intended to supply peak power and improve grid efficiency. The Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission has set an interim tariff of INR 5.51 per unit with Viability Gap Funding. This development marks a significant step in the state's renewable energy expansion and reinforces the role of integrated energy solutions in supporting Karnataka's power infrastructure.
Pace Digitek Ltd has been awarded a 250 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) power project integrated with a 250 MW / 1,100 MWh battery energy storage system at Ryapte in Pavagada Solar Park, Karnataka. The project, valued at INR 1,775 crore, was secured from Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Ltd (KREDL), a government undertaking.
The company confirmed that it has received the Letter of Award for the development of the renewable energy project, which is part of Tranche I of a tariff-based competitive bidding process. The project is aimed at supplying peak power and enhancing grid utilisation across Karnataka.
The Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission has approved an interim tariff of INR 5.51 per unit, supported by Viability Gap Funding to make the project financially viable. Pace Digitek, which provides integrated telecom infrastructure and energy solutions, has been increasingly active in renewable energy projects, reflecting a growing trend of combining solar power generation with battery energy storage for improved grid stability.
Pavagada Solar Park, where this project will be located, is one of India's largest solar parks and has been instrumental in Karnataka's renewable energy growth. By integrating a large-scale battery system with the solar PV installation, the project is expected to address peak demand effectively and provide a more reliable energy supply to the state's grid.
