Synopsis

JK Cement has started construction of a new grinding unit in Bikaner, Rajasthan, as part of its ongoing capacity expansion strategy. The company is investing around INR 500 crore in the project, which will have an initial capacity of 2 million tonnes per annum. The unit, spread across about 100 acres along the Jaipur Bikaner highway, will be JK Cement's 20th manufacturing facility. Commercial operations are planned to commence by March 2027, strengthening supply in Rajasthan and nearby markets.

JK Cement has initiated construction activities for a new cement grinding unit near Bikaner in Rajasthan, marking another step in expanding its production capacity in western India. The company has committed an investment of around INR 500 crore for the project, which is designed to cater to growing cement demand across Rajasthan and adjoining regions.

The upcoming grinding unit will have an initial capacity of 2 million tonnes per annum and will be developed on nearly 100 acres of land. Its location along the Jaipur Bikaner highway has been selected to improve logistical efficiency and ensure smoother movement of finished cement to key consumption centres. The company has indicated that this connectivity will help reduce transportation time and strengthen supply reliability.

Once completed, the Bikaner facility will become JK Cement's 20th manufacturing unit across its grey and white cement operations. The company has steadily expanded its footprint over the past few years through new plants and capacity additions in states such as Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, reflecting a broader push to align production with regional demand patterns.

Management has stated that Rajasthan remains a critical market due to sustained housing activity and ongoing infrastructure development. The new unit is expected to support this demand while also generating direct and indirect employment during both the construction and operational phases.

Construction is set to progress in phases, with commercial production scheduled to begin by March 2027. The project forms part of JK Cement's long-term plan to enhance domestic capacity while maintaining operational efficiency and cost control.
