Synopsis

ACME Solar Holdings has won a 220 MW solar project with integrated battery energy storage at the Morena Solar Park in Madhya Pradesh. The project is part of a 440 MW tender issued by Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Ltd under tariff-based competitive bidding. It includes four hours of daily peak power supply with high availability and a 25-year power purchase agreement. Land and evacuation infrastructure will be provided by the solar park developer, supporting long-term renewable energy supply for the state.

ACME Solar Holdings has secured a 220 MW solar power project integrated with a Battery Energy Storage System from Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Ltd. The project forms part of a larger 440 MW tender issued for the Morena Solar Park in Madhya Pradesh, strengthening the company's presence in hybrid renewable energy projects that combine generation with storage.

The tender was awarded under tariff-based competitive bidding guidelines and was finalised through an electronic reverse auction conducted in the past year. Under the project terms, ACME Solar will supply electricity at a maximum annual capacity utilisation factor of 35 per cent, along with four hours of peak power every day. This includes two hours of supply during the morning peak and two hours during the evening peak, with an annual availability requirement of 95 per cent.

The energy required for the evening peak will be charged directly from the solar plant. For the morning peak, charging power will be provided by the procurer during night hours at no cost. This structure is aimed at ensuring reliable peak-hour supply while optimising solar generation and storage usage.

Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Ltd will provide land and evacuation infrastructure above the 33 kV level as part of the solar park facilities. The project will operate under a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement, combining solar generation and battery storage to meet long-term supply commitments. The PPA will be signed with Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company Ltd and RUMSL.

ACME Solar has been expanding its portfolio of utility-scale renewable projects, with a growing focus on storage-backed capacity to address grid stability and peak demand requirements. The Morena project adds to the broader push by state utilities to procure firm and dispatchable renewable energy.
