Domicil, part of the HTL Group, has expanded its India presence with the launch of Domicil Sleep, a new vertical focused on premium mattresses and sleep accessories. The brand has simultaneously opened two Domicil Sleep experience stores in Bengaluru, located at LVS Mall on Airport Road and BTM Layout 2nd Stage. The move marks Domicil's entry into India's organised premium sleep and wellness segment, with an emphasis on ergonomics, material quality and in-store experiential retail. The mattress range comprises 12 variants across five sizes, supported by complementary pillows, and is positioned as part of a broader lifestyle offering rather than a standalone product category. The Bengaluru launches form the starting point of the brand's India expansion strategy in the sleep segment.
German home furnishings brand Domicil, part of the HTL Group, has entered India's premium sleep and wellness market with the launch of Domicil Sleep, alongside the opening of two exclusive experience stores in Bengaluru. The stores are located at LVS Mall on Airport Road and at BTM Layout 2nd Stage, marking the brand's first physical retail presence in India dedicated exclusively to sleep products.
The new vertical extends Domicil's existing portfolio of upholstered furniture into the bedroom category, with a focus on mattresses and sleep accessories designed around comfort, ergonomics and material performance. Company executives said the move reflects changing consumer preferences in India, where wellness-led living and sleep quality are increasingly influencing home-related spending decisions.
Phua Yong Tat, Chief Executive Officer of the HTL Group of Companies, said the launch was intended to carry Domicil's long-standing design philosophy into an essential but often under-addressed area of home living. He stated that the mattresses were developed using advanced materials and construction systems to support breathability, durability and comfort, positioning sleep as a core element of everyday well-being rather than a purely functional requirement.
The Domicil Sleep portfolio includes 12 mattress variants offered across five standard sizes. The range spans cooling technology mattresses, plush foam designs, Australian wool options, eco-conscious Swedish fabric constructions, anti-odour variants and anti-allergen models. According to the company, all mattresses are built around a German Adaptive Smart Spring System, intended to provide stability and differentiated support for varying body types. The product line also includes five pillow formats cervical, contour, butterfly, foam and fibre designed to reduce pressure on the neck and shoulders.
Manoj Kumar Nair, Country Head (Brands), India, Middle East and Africa at HTL Group of Companies, said India's premium home segment is seeing a structural shift towards products linked to health and daily comfort. He said the company views sleep as a critical component of wellness-oriented living and considers the Bengaluru stores the first step towards building a wider national footprint for Domicil Sleep.
Each of the Bengaluru outlets has been designed as an immersive retail environment rather than a conventional mattress showroom. The 1,700-sq-ft Airport Road store presents mattresses within fully styled bedroom settings, incorporating Domicil beds, side tables, carpets and wall finishes to simulate real residential layouts. The interiors also reference the brand's German design heritage, with an emphasis on clean lines, material detailing and restrained aesthetics.
With the Bengaluru launch, Domicil has signalled its intention to position sleep products as part of an integrated lifestyle offering in India's premium housing market. The company has not disclosed store-level investment figures or a detailed rollout timeline but indicated that further expansion would follow as consumer response and operational performance are assessed.
