Singapore-based airport services company SATS has completed its multi-modal cargo logistics facility at Noida International Airport, which is set to be inaugurated next month, a company official confirmed. The company has already invested nearly INR 1,000 crore in building the facility.
The next phase of development, expected to involve an additional INR 600 crore, will focus on creating an adjacent integrated logistics park. This will offer seamless end-to-end airfreight services for air cargo industry players, according to Bob Chi, CEO of SATS Ltd's Gateway Services for the Asia Pacific region. He shared this during the Uttar Pradesh Investment Roadshow hosted by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
The investment is part of SATS's plan to position Uttar Pradesh's new airport as a global aviation hub. It is being made through its 50:50 joint venture with Air India, known as AI-SATS. SATS has been operating in India since 2008.
Beyond capital investment, the company aims to actively develop the airfreight logistics ecosystem to connect Uttar Pradesh's key industries with global markets. SATS operates in 225 locations across 27 countries, offering expertise in sectors including cold-chain management for perishables and pharmaceutical cargo.
Chi highlighted Uttar Pradesh's growth potential, citing expanding agricultural, industrial, and services sectors. He noted the company intends to transfer its best practices and technologies into its ongoing and future projects in the region.
Earlier, Chief Minister Adityanath visited SATS's airfreight hub at Changi International Airport in Singapore to observe its operations handling 1.65 million tonnes of air cargo, including specialized cold-chain logistics. He led an investment delegation to Singapore earlier this week, underlining the state's focus on strengthening global aviation and logistics connections.
