Logistics and supply-chain services provider Delhivery has announced a strategic collaboration with NVIDIA to develop artificial-intelligence-enabled mapping solutions specifically tailored to the Indian market, officials said earlier this week at the India AI Summit 2026. The partnership is aimed at building a new class of digital maps and location intelligence infrastructure that can effectively address the challenges posed by India's varied geography and informal addressing conventions.


India's addressing systems often rely on landmarks, local vernacular and non-standardised sequences rather than precise geographic coordinates, presenting difficulties for conventional global mapping platforms. Delhivery said these limitations can impede delivery accuracy, particularly in last-mile logistics where understanding local context is critical to operational efficiency. The joint initiative seeks to overcome such obstacles by combining Delhivery's extensive proprietary dataset accumulated from billions of shipments over several years with NVIDIA's advanced AI computing stack.

Under the collaboration, the partners will leverage NVIDIA-developed technologies, including CV-CUDA and Nemotron open models, as part of an AI-driven platform to produce highly accurate, scalable and locally relevant digital maps. Delhivery intends to harness this technology to interpret unstructured address data, disambiguate location descriptions and support predictive sequencing, making routing and location referencing more precise across diverse urban and rural environments. Such capabilities are expected to enhance logistics throughput and reduce delivery errors.

Delhivery's Chief Technology Officer emphasised that while global mapping tools often struggle with India's street-level nuances, a Bharat-first solution is needed to operate at the required scale and capture the country's unique address modalities. By building a location intelligence layer using its shipment history and NVIDIA's AI infrastructure, the company aims to establish foundational mapping capabilities that can also support e-commerce, supply chains and broader digital ecosystem services.
