The Andhra Pradesh State Investment Promotion Board has approved 27 new projects worth INR 29,021 crore at its 15th meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shri N Chandrababu Naidu. With this, total cleared investments in the state have crossed INR 9 lakh crore, expected to generate over 8.5 lakh jobs. The government is pushing its Speed of Doing Business policy, fast-tracking major proposals and closely monitoring land allotments. Alongside industrial growth, Andhra Pradesh is expanding tourism infrastructure across Visakhapatnam, Amaravati and Tirupati, with plans for hotels, shopping hubs and convention centres. The state is positioning itself as a key destination for manufacturing, infrastructure and tourism-led development.

The Andhra Pradesh State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) has approved 27 new projects with a total investment of INR 29,021 crore. The clearances were granted at the 15th SIPB meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shri N Chandrababu Naidu, according to an official release issued on Wednesday night.

With the latest approvals, the state has cleared investments worth over INR 9 lakh crore across 15 SIPB meetings. These projects are expected to generate more than 8.5 lakh jobs.

Emphasising governance reforms, the Chief Minister said the Speed of Doing Business policy should guide all industrial decisions. He directed officials to ensure there are no administrative hurdles for major investments in the pipeline, including projects proposed by companies such as Google, ArcelorMittal and BPCL.

Naidu also instructed that a committee of ministers monitor land allotment for industries. He said approvals should be cancelled if companies fail to begin work within the stipulated timeframe. The Chief Minister asked officials to reach out to Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) and encourage them to invest in Andhra Pradesh. He added that the government is ready to offer special incentives to attract semiconductor projects and suggested examining additional benefits for ventures set up on privately owned land.

Beyond industrial growth, Naidu outlined plans to strengthen tourism infrastructure across Visakhapatnam, Amaravati and Tirupati. He proposed developing tourism clusters in Suryalanka, Polavaram, Pulicat, Gandikota, Srisailam, Madanapalle and Horsley Hills with focused development strategies.

The Chief Minister said new shopping malls, hotels and related facilities in these clusters would help draw more visitors. He noted that a Bharat Mandapam convention centre is coming up in Visakhapatnam and should be developed as a landmark structure. The state also plans to expand hospitality infrastructure in cities such as Kakinada and Eluru, targeting the creation of 50,000 hotel rooms.

Naidu further called for hosting national-level events and developing specialised ecosystems such as sports cities and creative cities. He highlighted the potential of health tourism and suggested setting up a culinary institute in Tirupati to promote the food and hospitality sector. Encouraging hospitality-focused deemed universities was also discussed.

In addition, the Chief Minister said value addition in aquaculture could help revive exports to the United States and support growth in dairy, poultry, livestock and meat processing sectors.

The latest approvals reflect Andhra Pradesh's continued focus on industrial expansion, infrastructure growth and tourism-led development.
