Highway Infrastructure Ltd has secured a toll operations and maintenance contract valued at INR 154.6 crore from the National Highways Authority of India for a key stretch of the Vadodara-Mumbai Expressway. The short-term assignment covers toll collection and upkeep of facilities at three toll plazas in Gujarat, with a daily remittance obligation of INR 1.71 crore over a 90-day period. The order adds to the company's growing portfolio of NHAI toll operations contracts and strengthens its presence in highway asset management services.
Highway Infrastructure Ltd has been awarded a toll operations contract worth INR 154.6 crore by National Highways Authority of India for sections of the Vadodara-Mumbai Expressway. The contract was awarded through a letter of acceptance issued by a domestic authority and relates to toll collection and maintenance activities on an important expressway corridor in Gujarat.
Under the terms of the agreement, the company will act as the user fee agency at three toll plazas Moti Naroli, Ena and Gandevi. Its responsibilities include toll collection as well as the operation and maintenance of associated public amenities such as toilet blocks and consumables. The execution period for the assignment is 90 days, during which Highway Infrastructure is required to remit INR 1.71 crore per day to the authority.
The awarded stretch forms part of the Vadodara-Mumbai Expressway, a critical segment of the larger Delhi-Mumbai Expressway project. This corridor is designed as an access-controlled, multi-lane expressway aimed at reducing travel time and improving connectivity between Gujarat and Maharashtra. The toll plazas covered under the contract are considered commercially significant due to steady traffic movement on this section.
This order further strengthens the toll operations portfolio of Highway Infrastructure, which has been steadily expanding its presence in road asset management. In the recent past, the company has secured multiple toll operation and maintenance contracts from NHAI across national highways, helping build a diversified order book and recurring revenue stream.
The company has also clarified that the contract does not fall under related-party transactions, and that none of its promoters or promoter group entities have any interest in the awarding authority. This ensures the order has been secured on an arm's-length basis, in line with regulatory disclosures.
