Festo has expanded its footprint in India with the inauguration of a new Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Bengaluru, reinforcing its commitment to innovation in automation and smart manufacturing. The German automation technology major announced that the facility will support its global growth ambitions while deepening its engagement with India's engineering and technology ecosystem.


Located near Electronics City, the 71,000 sq ft centre has the capacity to accommodate up to 600 professionals. The investment comes as Festo marks four decades of operations in India, underlining the country's growing importance within the company's global network.

According to the company, the GCC will serve as a strategic hub for advanced engineering, digital solutions, software development, data analytics and process excellence. It is expected to contribute significantly to global research and development programmes, while also supporting process optimisation and innovation initiatives across markets.

The centre will house highly skilled professionals and build upon the expertise of Festo's existing workforce in India. By integrating engineering capabilities with digital technologies, the facility aims to strengthen Industry 4.0 applications, including intelligent automation systems and sustainable manufacturing practices.

Ravi Sastry, Managing Director of Festo India, said the new centre aligns with the company's vision of enabling automation for a sustainable future. He noted that the GCC would play a vital role in advancing global R&D projects while fostering collaboration with India's extensive pool of technology and engineering talent.
