Rzeszow and Lublin airports in eastern Poland reopened after a short closure to accommodate military flights, according to PANSA. The military operations were routine, with no threat to national airspace, and authorities did not disclose the types of aircraft used. Temporary halts of civilian flights for military purposes have been standard practice at these airports in the past. The resumption ensures that commercial flights are back on schedule, maintaining normal airport services and demonstrating Poland's balance between routine security measures and civilian aviation operations.
Rzeszow and Lublin airports in eastern Poland resumed operations after a brief suspension to allow military flights to operate without restrictions, according to the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency (PANSA). The temporary closure affected commercial and private flights but was lifted once the military operations concluded.
A spokesperson for the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces, Ewa Zlotnicka, told a local broadcaster that the flights were routine and there was no risk to Polish airspace. She did not specify the types of aircraft involved in these operations.
The move comes amid Poland's ongoing efforts to ensure airspace security while maintaining normal airport activities. Both airports have previously coordinated with military authorities to temporarily halt civilian flights for security and training exercises, reflecting a standard practice rather than an emergency.
The authorities have confirmed that all scheduled commercial services at Rzeszow and Lublin airports are now operating as planned, and passengers can expect normal airport services.
