Synopsis

Juniper Green Energy has initiated power generation at the 72-MWp solar segment of its 133-MWp hybrid project in Solapur, Maharashtra, which was commissioned on January 10. Developed by its subsidiary Juniper Green Spark Ten Private Ltd, the solar segment was completed 10 months earlier than planned, following the first phase of 36 MWp commissioned last September. The project's PPA with Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited covers 108 MWp of solar and 25 MW of wind power, with full commercial operation originally set for November 2026. The solar commissioning marks a major milestone in advancing the hybrid project.

Juniper Green Energy has started power generation at the 72-MWp solar component of its 133-MWp hybrid power project in Solapur district, Maharashtra. The solar capacity was commissioned on January 10, marking a significant step in the development of the hybrid project.

The capacity was developed by its subsidiary, Juniper Green Spark Ten Private Ltd, and was completed 10 months ahead of schedule. In the first phase of the project, about 36 MWp of solar capacity had been commissioned in late September of last year.

The Juniper Green Spark Ten project has a power purchase agreement (PPA) for a total hybrid capacity of 133 MWp, which includes a contracted 108 MWp of solar power and an additional 25 MW of wind power. The PPA was signed with Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) in November 2024, with the scheduled commercial operation originally planned for November 2026.

The commissioning of the solar component is an important milestone in moving towards full operationalisation of the hybrid project. Ankush Malik, CEO of Juniper Green Energy, stated that the company has once again shown its ability to complete projects ahead of schedule, reflecting strong project execution and operational efficiency.
