ACME Group's 400 MW solar power project with integrated battery energy storage in Andhra Pradesh has seen fast on-ground progress, with construction beginning within four months of receiving state-level approvals, according to the state government. The project is located in Anantapur district and is being developed under the Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy framework, which focuses on providing reliable, round-the-clock renewable power.
With an investment of around INR 3,000 crore, the project combines large-scale solar generation with battery storage to ensure consistent power supply. It is scheduled to be commissioned in 2026. The state's Education, IT and Electronics Minister, Nara Lokesh, welcomed the pace of execution and noted that the quick transition from approvals to implementation reflected Andhra Pradesh's emphasis on speed, clarity, and effective investment facilitation.
The project is expected to strengthen grid stability once operational and contribute to India's broader clean energy transition. Andhra Pradesh has reiterated its focus on accelerating renewable energy, energy storage, and green manufacturing projects by offering proactive government support, ready land banks, and a responsive single-desk clearance system.
State officials highlighted that the ACME FDRE project fits into Andhra Pradesh's long-term plan to position itself as a national hub for renewable energy and advanced power solutions. This strategy is supported by the availability of land, improving transmission infrastructure, and streamlined approvals. The government has been actively pushing such projects in recent years to meet rising power demand while reducing dependence on conventional energy sources.
