During a recent cabinet sub-committee meeting, chaired by revenue minister Jagat Singh Negi, officials reviewed land records and availability for the project, confirming the allotment and identifying an additional 5,000-6,000 bighas from the common land pool that could support further expansion of the development.


The sub-committee also detailed plans for preliminary surveys and groundwork. The Himachal Pradesh Housing and Urban Development Authority (HIMUDA) will soon carry out a drone-based digital mapping of the identified land parcels to create accurate and comprehensive land records. This approach is intended to streamline planning and reduce disputes related to ownership and boundaries prior to formal development. Once surveyed, HIMUDA, in coordination with the revenue department and concerned tehsildars, will undertake land consolidation efforts over the coming weeks to form a single, unified parcel for the township.

The Him-Chandigarh City project is being envisioned as a modern, planned urban centre near the Chandigarh border, adjacent to Baddi's industrial belt. The township aims to leverage its strategic location to attract housing and commercial investment, offering an alternative urban destination near the well-established Tricity market.
