Chamarajanagar district has made e-Khata certificates fully accessible online for property owners under the state government's Get e-Khata from Home initiative. Residents across city municipal councils and town panchayats can now submit documents, review draft e-Khatas, and upload corrections through the e-Aasthi portal. The process is supported at Karnataka One (K1) Centres for those needing guidance. This initiative aims to simplify property documentation, enhance transparency, and allow citizens to pay property taxes online efficiently, aligning with Karnataka's ongoing digitisation of land records.
Chamarajanagar district has rolled out comprehensive online access for property e-Khata certificates as part of the state government's efforts to digitise property services. The Get e-Khata from Home initiative now covers all Urban Local Bodies, including Chamarajanagar City Municipal Council, Kollegala City Municipal Council, and the town panchayats of Gundlupete, Yelandur, and Hanur. Property owners can apply for, track, and obtain their e-Khata certificates entirely online, eliminating the need to visit offices multiple times.
The e-Aasthi platform, linked with the Property Treasury (Aasthi Kanaja), generates a draft e-Khata which property owners can view. They can upload corrections or additional documents and submit them for verification. After approval by the respective Urban Local Body, the final e-Khata can be downloaded and used for legal, taxation, and civic purposes.
Applicants must submit essential documents including the owner's photograph and Aadhaar, the property tax SAS challan number, the registered deed number from the Kaveri software, electricity RR number if applicable, a recent property photograph, and the Encumbrance Certificate (Form 15/16) along with other supporting property documents.
For citizens less familiar with digital processes, Karnataka One (K1) Centres provide on-ground assistance, guiding applicants through e-Khata submission and document verification. The initiative also supports property tax payments online, helping residents manage their civic responsibilities efficiently.
The rollout aligns with broader state efforts to digitise land records, improve transparency, and reduce procedural delays. Similar online services have been successfully implemented in other Karnataka districts, providing a template for Chamarajanagar's adoption. Authorities emphasize that public awareness and support through K1 Centres will be key to ensuring that all residents, including those with limited digital literacy, can access these services effectively.
Residents seeking more details or assistance can contact the district helpline or access the e-Aasthi portal for guidance and updates.
