Ahluwalia Contracts (India) Ltd has been awarded an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract valued at INR 888.38 crore by the Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation. The project involves the development and enhancement of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra at Punauradham in Sitamarhi district, which is recognized as the birthplace of Goddess Sita. The contract includes civil construction, development of visitor facilities, boundary walls, and other infrastructure essential for managing pilgrim visits. The project is scheduled for completion within 42 months under the EPC model.

The Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation issued the work order after completing the tender process, selecting Ahluwalia Contracts for its extensive experience in executing large-scale infrastructure and civil construction projects. The project aims to improve tourism infrastructure, enhance the experience for pilgrims, and generate employment opportunities in the local area during the execution period.

In its exchange filing, Ahluwalia Contracts stated that neither its promoters nor promoter group hold any stake in the awarding entity, confirming that this project does not qualify as a related-party transaction. As of late September, the company's unexecuted order book stood at over INR 18,000 crore, ensuring visibility for revenue and work execution for the next two and a half years. This order strengthens the company's ongoing portfolio, which includes residential, institutional, and infrastructure contracts across India.

The market responded positively to the announcement, reflecting investor confidence in the company's ability to successfully execute the Bihar project alongside its existing projects. In recent years, Ahluwalia Contracts has secured several significant domestic orders, consolidating its position in civil construction, EPC works, and infrastructure development, particularly for public and heritage projects.
