Parents of Alkem Laboratories founder purchased a premium penthouse in Bandra West for INR 63 crore, marking the highest price for a non sea facing apartment in the area. The 4,583 sq ft unit in S Raheja's Evergreen tower comes with private terraces and a double height living room. The purchase, completed with stamp duty and registration charges, reflects the continuing demand for luxury homes in established Mumbai neighbourhoods. Industry experts note the property's proximity to the sea and redevelopment background adds to its premium appeal.
Parents of Alkem Laboratories founder have acquired a luxury penthouse in Bandra West for INR 63 crore, making it the costliest non sea facing residential deal in the area. The 4,583 sq ft apartment is located in S Raheja's Evergreen tower on Perry Road, and was bought at an effective rate of about INR 1.37 lakh per sq ft.
The penthouse features spacious private terraces, a double height living room, and large windows that provide angled sea views, offering both privacy and openness. It is part of a redevelopment project where lower floors were allocated to existing members and upper floors were released for sale. The couple paid stamp duty and registration charges, and the apartment has an occupancy certificate, though interiors are yet to be completed.
Sources mention that the apartment is around 900 metres from the Arabian Sea, adding to its premium positioning. The purchase reflects a sustained appetite among high net worth individuals for unique and fully owned luxury residences in central Mumbai locations. The transaction also continues a trend of significant residential acquisitions by members of the Alkem promoter family in recent years, highlighting long-term confidence in prime Mumbai real estate.
S Raheja's managing director confirmed that the deal was concluded recently, just below the reported INR 63 crore, and noted that such transactions reinforce interest in trophy properties in established neighbourhoods. Observers say this indicates that Mumbai's top-end property segment continues to attract buyers despite fluctuations in broader market activity.
